Τo Ορνιθόγαλο (λέγεται και αστέρι της Βηθλεέμ λόγω σχήματος) είναι ένα ιδιαίτερα όμορφο μονοετές αγριολούλουδο της Μεσογειακής υπαίθρου. Είναι συγγενικό λουλούδι με το κρίνο. Παγκοσμίως συναντάται μία μεγάλη ποικιλία ορνιθόγαλων, στην Ελλάδα μόνο υπάρχουν περισσότερα από 20 είδη.
